Hello! My name is Hiroko from Japan. I have been living in Singapore for more than 20 years. almost Singaporean lah! Please feel free to contact me.
How did you get into learning Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk dance in Singapore?
My friend Keiko ask to me to learn Salsa with her because she was not getting enough exercise. I have always loved to dance to Latin music. I had never learned how to dance before, and being overweight, my reply to Keiko to join a latin dance class was an immediate Yes.
What is your favourite dance class and why?
I love the Solo Salsa class. The Salsa solo shines level 4 choreography class with many different steps is very exciting. I also participate in Salsa solo level 3 to check and revise the steps. Recently, I have also started to join Bachata solo shines dance class, which is very interesting because the Bachata music rhythm is different from Salsa music. I would like to continue learning various dances in the future.
What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
I learn a few dance steps each time during the class, and learning and dancing to new moves within an hour is a brain training for me. I know the dance steps in my head, but when I actually dance them, I can't seem to get them right. I feel that my concentration is better than before I started dancing, and I enjoy it very much. It is also a good form of physical exercise.
What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
I have so much fun and feel refreshed when I'm dancing.
Which Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk song do you like the most?
I have never danced to this song, but I would like to dance to it someday. Pochy y su Cocoband - Salsa Con Coco
