Caliente Salsa and Bachata Student Spotlight - Raizel

Today, let us introduce to you one of our Salsa and Bachata solo and partner dance student😍❤️‍🔥

Meet Raizel!

How did you get into learning Salsa and Bachata dance in Singapore?

It was during the pandemic when I saw an ad in my Instagram about Caliente Dance Studio. It piqued my interest as I am into dancing and I have been longing to learn latin dance for quite some time but could not find a right timing for it.

Seeing that they have an offer for dance trial classes, I grabbed that opportunity to try out if it fits me. Turns out it really did! After the trial class, I decided to sign up for the classes. I also met a Filipina who was already dancing in Caliente Dance Studio and she encouraged me to join solo dance class and partner dance class for both Salsa and Bachata dance. That's how my dancing journey started.

What is your favourite dance class and why?

My favourite dance class is the solo Salsa and Bachata shines because this is the time where I can express myself freely while learning new dance techniques. After the class, I will have to showcase the moves we got to learn within the timeframe of 1 hour. In this class I was able to meet new friends whom I enjoy hanging out with both in class and outside.

What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa and Bachata?

The music, the good vibes, new friendships, the sexy dance moves I got to learn every class. It is addicting, fun and exciting to look forward every week. A way of getting lost in the momentum in expressing not just a physical aspect of oneself but the inner art soul that a person beholds.

What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa and Bachata?

If you want to get to know more of yourself, then let it out through dancing. Want to express who you are without saying a word, DANCE! Want to have more friends, DANCE! Want to get wild and stress-free, DANCE!

Which Salsa or Bachata song do you like the most?

I have no particular favourite songs. All I know once the songs starts playing then it's a cue to start dancing. I actually love the songs we get to dance with during classes. I have to admit Im not good with song titles so I can't give out any. But surely, I enjoy every song played even though I don't understand what the lyrics are. What matters the most is the rhythm and the beat that I can follow and enjoy dancing.
