How did you get into learning Salsa and Bachata dance in Singapore?
It started off with an unexpected trial dance class (Bachata) in Denmark which led to my passion in dancing Bachata. After coming back to Singapore, I took a long hiatus from dancing until covid hit. That's when I saw Bachata dance classes by Caliente Dance Studio in my classpass. Part of me wanted to reunite with Bachata again, so why not just give this studio a shot? Loved the classes and the community so from then on I started learning Salsa too and never regretted signing up!
What is your favourite dance class and why?
It is going to be hands down Bachata! Its deep expressions and complex undertones allured me to learn more about it. Salsa dance is great too with its upbeat and cheery vibes for days when you needed it.
What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa and Bachata?
The people and social interactions of course! Communicating without words, and it doesn't matter if you're good or bad at it, you'll enjoy it either ways!
What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa and Bachata?
Be it for friends, to burn calories or even to relief day-to-day stress. There's always something for everyone! You'll never know if you never try! Tried it, loved it! No regrets.
Which Salsa or Bachata song do you like the most?
Deja Vu by Prince Royce and Shakira. The beats and their voices! So synergistic!
