Caliente Salsa and Bachata Student Spotlight - Kara

Today, let us introduce to you one of our Salsa and Bachata solo shines dancer 😍❤️‍🔥

Meet Kara!

Tell us a little about yourself!

Hello everyone, I am Kara. Every other week, I indulge in roast duck. Big love for 2 scoops of caramel sauce + 1 scoop biscoff biscuit on my frozen yogurt. I hope that my two hours of cardio per week at Caliente will be enough to keep me in shape.

How did you get into learning Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk dance in Singapore?

During my final year in university, I saw a performance put up by my school’s latin dance club. I find the performance so captivating that I replayed their dance video a thousand and one time as I imagine myself as one of them. I wanted to join the Latin dance club back then but I couldn’t commit to their dance schedule. When I finally graduated, my passion can’t wait any longer and I immediately signed up for latin dance classes.

What is your favourite dance class and why?

I enjoy all Salsa and Bachata classes because the styling looks fantastic. Dancing helps me relax after a long day/ a long week, boosts my confidence and makes me happy.

What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?

I love it when instructors incorporate hand movements into the dances. It's amazing when my brain remembers both the footwork and hand movements as the music plays. And feeling like I look amazing while dancing adds to the enjoyment.

What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?

If you find going to the gym boring like me, Latin dance provides an exciting way to get your cardio workout. If you're looking to learn the most captivating dance moves, Latin dance is definitely for you.

Which Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk song do you like the most?
