How did you get into learning Salsa and Bachata in Singapore?
I’ve loved dance since I was a kid, I did explore a little when I was younger but with different genres like ballet, jazz, hip hop and modern dance. It’s been years since though. But it was a funny story cos I was actually at my friend’s mom’s salon dyeing my hair. So her mom happens to be taking bachata lessons, and we literally spent 8 hours watching bachata videos. After that when I found Caliente Dance Studio on Facebook, I decided to grab one of my girls and sign up 😂
What is your favourite dance class and why?
I’ve tried the bachata solo and bachata partner with my husband and I enjoy them both a lot. They both challenge me in different ways but I’d probably have to say the partner class because you get to interact and dance with so many people!
What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa and Bachata?
Loud music, sweating, and leaving problems and the world behind in that moment
What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa and Bachata?
It gets you moving, gets your brain going as well. It’s so much fun and you get to meet a bunch of great people from all walks of life, all coming together to learn something new! Caliente Dance Studio also has such a chill environment which makes it easy to feel comfortable and just be yourself.
