How did you get into learning Salsa and Bachata in Singapore?
I first started learning Bachata a few months ago. I used to watch Youtube videos, and at the same time my friend who was already a member of Caliente Dance Studio invited me to try a class. So that’s how my journey started!
What is your favorite dance class and why?
The ‘Bachata Partner’ class is my favourite because the steps are pretty simple yet more dynamic than the other classes. I especially love the cha cha moves ;)
What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa and Bachata?
Dance is the perfect way for me to escape from my thoughts and troubles. It also brings people together through expressing creativity whilst dancing to the music. To me, dance is joyous and synonymous to how I define “happiness”. I thoroughly enjoy participating in the performance classes :)
What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa and Bachata?
Firstly, it is a fun activity that sharpens the mind. Secondly, it will also improve your fitness, posture and coordination. Dancing is a skill that gives you self-confidence and gets rid of stress. Dancing is truly enjoyable.
Which Salsa or Bachata song do you like the most?
There are a few that I quite enjoy, but my favorite one is titled “Salchicha con huevo jimmy sabater”.
