Caliente Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Zouk Student Spotlight - Mavis

Today, let us introduce to you one of our Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and Zouk partner dance student😍❤️‍🔥

Meet Mavis!

Tell us a little about yourself!

I may have a RBF, but I am actually a very fun person! You can verify this with all the friends that I have made in Caliente Dance Studio! Haha

How did you get into learning Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk dance in Singapore?

My first salsa lesson was in Brisbane during a friend’s birthday party and I freaked out because I had no idea what I was doing. I found out my group of friends really love dancing to Salsa and Bachata latin music. I promised them that I would visit them again, and do all the fun activities together. Hence I decided that I will learn how to dance and surprise them so that we can have fun together. After a few dance lessons, Latin social dance grew on me and I looked forward to attending dance classes every time!

What is your favourite dance class and why?

I love both Salsa and Bachata. If I have to choose, it will be Salsa because it is more dynamic.

What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?

I enjoy the music and it is a great form of workout. At Caliente Dance Studio the instructors are fun and I also made a lot of new friends here. I am always looking forward to classes and having fun while learning something new!

What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?

You are less self-conscious about how other people see you, and gradually gain confidence in the process. It is also a great way to improve your posture because dancing is all about the frame! Plus, you get to meet a lot of new people and make new friends!

Which Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk song do you like the most?

Salsa: Mala, Marc Anthony

Bachata: La Novelita, Aventura

Caliente Team.
