Today, let us introduce to you one of our Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and Zouk solo and partner social dance student🥰❤️🔥
Meet Hui Lan!
Tell us a little about yourself!
Hello! I am Lanz and I am a Singaporean working in the Tech industry. I enjoy eating a lot (without getting fat) and love being surrounded by happy people.
Aside to dancing, my other passion is in music. During the pandemic, I learned how to play the keyboard and acoustic guitar.
How did you get into learning Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk dance in Singapore?
I wanted to get back into dancing after the pandemic. Since I no longer have gym club access, I was looking for a dance studio to go to. I told my friend Geraldine about it and she said that she has been with Caliente Dance Studio for a while and told me to try it. I was a bit hesitant because I have never been into social dancing, but I’m glad that I have tried and love it!
What is your favourite dance class and why?
Salsa SHINES because I love how challenging it is to get the counting of each move right to the fast paced songs. I also love that I can challenge myself to improve on my technique after getting the tempo right. There is just always something that I can work on, and it never gets boring.
What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
Being able to see myself improve over time even with the smallest details. It helps when I get compliments from my friends when they watch my videos and see that I’ve improved!
What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
It is never too late to try something new no matter how old you think you are. I have seen people in their golden years being so nimble in dance classes too! Dancing also helps you to make new friends, and keep your mind and body active.
Which Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk song do you like the most?
Te Espero by Prince Royce
