Caliente Salsa and Bachata Student Spotlight - Deborah

Today, let us introduce to you one of our Salsa and Bachata solo dance student😍❤️‍🔥

Meet Deborah (and thank you for sharing puppy love with us!)

How did you get into learning Salsa and Bachata dance in Singapore?

I have always wanted to learn Bachata. It all started in 2019…when I chanced upon Caliente Dance Studio on Facebook. Signed up for a trial class with my husband, and that was it. I fell in love with the music and the dance and I have never looked back.

What is your favourite dance class and why?

I enjoy both Salsa and Bachata, but after my injuries, I have decided to focus on Bachata for now as its easier on the knee. I enjoy the sensuality of the dance and somehow the music resonates with me. Coming back after slightly over a year after an injury was intimidating at first as I really had forgotten everything. However, the instructors here are amazing and were very supportive….and coming back was the best decision I made. Right now, I am taking solo dance classes, and I am absolutely loving it!

What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa and Bachata?

Dancing is amazing – it makes me feel energised, vibrant, seductive…it just makes me feel alive. Most importantly, it brings people together! I look forward to every class as that’s my 1 hour of ME time – time to just forget about everything else, and just focus on me.

What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa and Bachata?

Gosh…..there are just so many reasons! It’s a fun way to exercise (I hate the gym)! It’s also a great way to destress and meet new people. If you are thinking about taking up dance…..even just a little……..why not just give it a go…..there is nothing to lose (but lots to gain). See you at the studio soon, eh?

Which Salsa or Bachata song do you like the most?

Te Espero by Prince Royce and Maria Bacerra

Ojala by Grupo Extra
