Meet Maryann!

Tell us a little about yourself!
Iām Maryann from the Philippines. I work in the healthcare industry.
How did you get into learning Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk dance in Singapore?
I have a close friend who has been performing in Salsa and Bachata choreographies, and she has been encouraging me to learn how to dance for years! But I never did. š¤Ŗ I would tag along with her during dance festivals and I just enjoyed watching the shows. This was until 2021 when I was looking for something to keep me busy during my free time, I came across Caliente Dance Studioās advertisement on facebook. It caught my attention and I just felt it is about time to learn how to dance. šš From then on, I have not stopped learning and it is one of the best decision that I have made š
What is your favourite dance class and why?
Hard to choose because I enjoy every class whether it is solo or partner latin dance. For me, Salsa is more upbeat and challenging while Bachata is more sensual. Now I am starting to learn Brazilian Zouk social dance and I like it too. š
What do you enjoy the most about dancing Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
I enjoy learning new steps which gives me more confidence when dancing. It is a fun way to exercise, a good stress reliever ( šÆ) and it always give that good vibes after class and social dance nights. You also get to meet new friends with the same passion which makes it more interesting too! š
What reasons will you give to someone to start learning how to dance Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk?
Take chances-there is no harm in trying! Who knows, you have that hidden talent. It is also a good way to burn calories- so itās good for your health! š
Which Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and/or Zouk song do you like the most?
Daniel Simo - Eres Todo y MƔs
